Teacher Under Investigation for Threatening to Harm a Student

BROOKSVILLE – The Hernando County School District confirmed that a teacher at Nature Coast Technical High School has been removed pending the outcome of a threat investigation.

Sources say sophomore English teacher Sheri Padgett was removed from her class Wednesday, after allegedly threatening to harm a student.

School District Spokesperson Karen Jordan says the following message was sent to NCT parents following the incident: NCT school administration and law enforcement are investigating a student report that alleges your child's teacher made a verbal threat to harm a student who was not completing their classwork today. While the investigation is active, the teacher will remain on administrative leave.

One parent who wished to remain anonymous says, “Ms. Padgett is one of the sweetest teachers. I don’t think she would ever do anything. She was probably just really frustrated and said something.”
