First Grad WWK8 Student Talks About Being Battered by His Teacher

UPDATE 3:20 p.m .: According to School Board member Mark Johnson, Ms. McFarlane is no longer employed with the Hernando County School District, effective today. There are unconfirmed reports that Ms. McFarlane packed up her things and never returned to the school several days ago on her own accord. It is not known if she was terminated or resigned from the HCSD.

BROOKSVILLE – Last month, R News reported that a first grade student at Winding Waters K-8 had been battered, not once, but twice by a foreign exchange teacher from Jamaica. Since that report, R News has tried to gather more information from officials, but they have been less than forthcoming about Ms. McFarlane or the foreign exchange program. Video Interview

Note: There are unconfirmed reports that Ms. McFarlane may have left the school without notifying the administration. We are waiting for confirmation on this development. Additionally, a school board meeting will be held on December 12th in Brooksville. The Evans family will be attending and asks that other parents join them.
