Suspect Wanted in Connection with Fatal Stabbing

UPDATE: According to officials, 24-year-old Jeremy Jason Patterson has been identified as a suspect in the Highpoint stabbing death of a male victim. Patterson should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

BROOKSVILLE – Investigators are searching for a suspect involved in a late-night stabbing on Thursday that left one person dead.

Officials say the incident occurred around 10:16 p.m. at the entrance to the Highpoint Golfing Community located on Cortez Blvd, where the victim was fatally stabbed.

Investigators have provided a photograph of a male subject they say is a person of interest in the homicide (See below).

The entrance to Highpoint is closed while the investigation continues. Residents can enter the community through the side entrance on Weeping Willow Street.

Officials urge residents to remain indoors until further notice.
