BROOKSVILLE – The former Winding Waters K-8 teacher who was investigated for showing a prohibited Disney movie to her students is back in the classroom at a local private school.
Several parents contacted R News today, claiming Jenna Lynn Barbee, the "woke" progressive activist who made national headlines for showing the movie Strange World, has accepted a position at Entirety K-12 in Brooksville.
One parent, who wished to remain anonymous, says she had no idea Barbee was her son's English teacher until the first day of school. She says because teachers use their first names, like Ms. Jenna, to identify themselves, she had no idea her son was in the "activist's" classroom. She says, "My son has an IQ of 141, and I don't see how this teacher could even think of teaching my son. My son could be teaching her."
There are unconfirmed reports from parents we spoke to that Barbee was not present at last week's open house, so they had no idea Entirety had hired the controversial teacher.
Some parents say they will not allow Barbee to teach their child, out of concern that she will use her position to push a progressive "woke" agenda.
Entirety is a small private school of only 154 students and has an excellent reputation in the community. The school is located at 990 Ponce De Leon Blvd in Brooksville.
R News reached out to Entirety for comment, but we have not received a response. We will update this story, once a representative of Entirety responds to our inquiry.
