BROOKSVILLE – Deputies are still searching for 2-year-old Joshua "J.J." Rowland who disappeared this morning from his home on Cheever Street.
According to the latest information from officials, the toddler disappeared around 9:45 a.m. but he was not reported missing until around noon today.
Officials say the parent was taking a nap when J.J. went missing. A witness says he saw J.J. around 10:45 a.m. in his front yard.
J.J. was wearing a grey Batman shirt, grey sweatpants, and has blonde hair.
Officials say, "We have law enforcement on foot and in vehicles, drones, aviation, K-9s from HCSO, Pasco K-9, and Citrus K-9, the HCSO Mounted Unit, and deputies on side by sides. Every available resource is out searching at this time." They are not seeking help from the community to organize a search at this time. Officials are asking for neighbors in the area to check their property for any sign of J.J.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis held a press conference at 5:00 p.m. this evening from the scene to discuss the details of the case.
