LOCATED SAFE - Missing Woman Could be in Hernando County, Family Fears the Worst

UPDATE: Rachel Schwartz has been located and is safe. There are no further details at this time.

FLORIDA – A search is underway for woman who hasn't been in contact with family since leaving her ex-boyfriend's home in Wimauma, Florida, last month.

33-year-old Rachel Schwartz was last seen on January 31st, when family says she left her ex's home on Carloway Hills Drive in Wimauma.

R News spoke with Schwartz' sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Ben Schrupp, who voiced concerns due to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. They say Schwartz and her ex were having relationship issues that may have risen to the point of physical abuse. Ring Doorbell video shows Schwartz leaving her ex's home, just before 6:00 p.m. on January 31st, carrying a large suitcase and an orange and black carry-on bag. Her ex is heard asking her to stay one more day, as she walks towards the driveway. Video does not show her actually leave the property.

Elizabeth says she had planned to fly back to visit family in Minnesota on February 4th but told her father in a text message that she was afraid of what her ex may do.

The Schrupp's received a tip that she may have been at a residence in Weeki Wachee, Florida, after a witness advised that he had given her a ride to Hernando County. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office has conducted welfare checks at a residence on River Point Drive in Weeki Wachee, where family says she may have been staying.

It is unknown if Schwartz' ex or anyone else is involved in her disappearance or if there is any foul play at all.

Elizabeth Schrupp says her sister is and Army Veteran who served in the Iraq war and suffers from several stress related conditions that requires medications. Schwartz is known to abuse drugs, but she has never stopped communicating with friends or family. She is also very active on her social media and family says her accounts went silent on the day of her disappearance. "If for whatever reason she does not want to be found, we are okay with that. We just want to know she's alive or okay. Even if it's a word or phrase only I would know. We will drop everything," says Elizabeth.

Schwartz is described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'2", and a thin build.

Officials have not commented on the case.
