Spring Hill Man Arrested for Human Trafficking and Sexual Battery on a Minor

SPRING HILL – Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Cherokee Trail, Tuesday, after reports that a suspect was wanted on several charges involving Human Trafficking.

According to sources, 37-year-old Timothy Luis Colon was taken into custody at 7429 Cherokee Trail and charged with 3-counts of Human Trafficking and 3-counts of Sexual Assault on a minor.

According to Florida Statute, Colon is charged with knowingly, or in reckless disregard of facts, engaging in human trafficking, or benefiting financially from human trafficking. He is also charged with sexual battery on a victim between the ages of 16 and 17. It is unknown at this time how many victims may be involved.

Colon is a convicted felon and was arrested in 2019 on charges of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. In 2020, Colon was arrested for Grand Theft Auto. Due to technicalities, all the above charges were dismissed by Hernando County State Attorneys before reaching trial.

According to Pasco County Officials, Colon is also facing Human Trafficking charges in their county, but they were unable to comment on the details, due to the case still being an active investigation.

Colon is currently held in the Hernando County on a $450,000 bond.
