Search Continues for Suspect in Brutal Stabbing

BROOKSVILLE – Last night, R News broke the news of a brutal domestic-related stabbing that occurred at the 16000 block of Ft Myers Street. The suspect later identified as 23-year-old Douglas Albert Fuller fled the scene on foot and is still at large.

Today, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported that Fullerton had gained access to his live-in boyfriend's cell phone and became angry after reading text messages on his phone. That's when Fullerton retrieved a machete and began striking the victim in the face. The victim was able to disarm Fullerton of the machete but then Fullerton grabbed a kitchen knife and began stabbing the victim in the back.

Officials say the victim hid in a bathroom for a short time before escaping and running to a neighbor's residence. While in the bathroom, Fullerton begged the victim to claim he got into an accident because he didn't want to go to jail.

The victim was transported to a trauma center where his officials say he suffered lacerations to the face, hand, and back, and fractures to facial bones.

R News has just learned that numerous deputies have converged in the area of Blair Ave and Alice Street, where witnesses say he was sighted in the area.

We will bring more on this story as it develops.
