FHP Asking for Help in Locating Fatal Hit-and-Run Suspect

SUMTER – The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating a hit-and-run suspect who killed a 63-year-old Lake Mary man last month.

The incident occurred on February 17th when a vehicle was traveling in the inside southbound lane of US-301. The vehicle struck the victim who was walking in the roadway just south of CR-102. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid or calling 911. Around 8:00 a.m. that morning, the victim's body was discovered lying in the median.

Officials say the vehicle is believed to be an unknown color 1992-1997 model Ford Bronco or F Series Ford pickup. The vehicle will be missing a left front headlight housing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
