Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle While Lying in Roadway

ZEPHYRHILLS – One person is dead after an early morning pedestrian crash on Otis Allen Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 59-year-old Zephyrhills man was traveling eastbound on Otis Allen Road in his Toyota 4Runner around 4:15 a.m. this morning. Just west of Sheppard Lane, the driver struck a subject who was lying in the roadway. The victim, a 37-year-old Zephyrhills man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

An investigation is underway into why the man was lying in the roadway.
