Investigation Underway at Parrott Middle School Where Student Fell from the Second Floor

UPDATE 4:49 P.M.: A statement provided by the Hernando County School District raises more questions regarding today's incident at Parrott Middle School.

According to District Spokesperson Karen Jordan, "...the medical emergency involving a DSPMS student was not the result of a fall." R News has not received a response from the Sheriff's Office or Fire Rescue regarding the incident.

BROOKSVILLE – An investigation is underway into an incident that occurred at Parrott Middle School, where a child allegedly fell from the second-floor stairwell and became unresponsive.

Details of the incident have not been confirmed but the original information provided by sources claimed a 17-year-old male fell and struck his head. Other sources say it was a 12-year-old boy. CPR was performed at the scene by Fire Rescue and they were able to regain a pulse, according to sources.

The patient was airlifted to a Trauma center for treatment, but his current condition is unknown.

Officials have not commented on how the incident occurred, but R News has received several anonymous reports that the child may have been pushed and that it was possibly a case of bullying.

We will bring more on this as it develops.
