Accused Child Rapist Claims He Was "Training" the Victim on How to Have Sex

SPRING HILL – Last week, R News received numerous tips from concerned citizens who reported seeing what appeared to be a drug raid at a residence on Spring Hill Drive. It wasn't until yesterday that R News obtained the nightmarish details of what was occurring inside the residence that prompted the raid.

According to an arrest affidavit, on January 2, 2024, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office met with a woman who claimed her live-in boyfriend of 10 years had been sexually abusing her 15-year-old daughter.

The victim's mother went on to explain that she had discovered a handwritten note on her daughter's bed that revealed the abuse and that she wanted to commit self-harm.

The victim told investigators during an interview that her stepfather, 49-year-old Jory Linn Van Antwerp had been sexually abusing her since 2021, when she was just 12 years old. The victim claimed the abuse began when they lived in Montana and continued when they relocated to Arizona. The victim says the sexual abuse continued even after moving to Spring Hill in 2022.

On one occasion, the victim asked Van Antwerp if she could have friends come over to visit. In exchange for allowing the friends to visit, the victim claims she was forced to provide oral sex to Van Antwerp.

The victim says the sexual intercourse stopped in 2023 after Van Antwerp was diagnosed with cancer and was confined to a wheelchair. However, the victim says Van Antwerp still sexually abused her in other ways.

On January 3rd, detectives conducted a controlled call between the victim's mother and Van Antwerp, hoping to record a confession. During the call, Van Antwerp admitted to having sex with the victim but suggested that the activity was a "science experiment" and that he was trying to "sanction her own curiosity." He goes on to explain that he was trying to "protect her by showing her what sex was." Van Antwerp even claimed to be the victim by stating "it was very traumatic for me to deal with," and that he had to get pills to perform.

Van Antwerp went on to explain that her training would not be restricted to just sex but that he planned to teach her how to "drink alcohol and deal with hangovers" once she turned 16 or 17. Van Antwerp also planned to teach her how to use drugs when the time was right.

All of the grooming was supposedly an effort to "get it out of her system" while she was young, said Van Antwerp.

The victim claims she was scared to tell anyone about the abuse because Van Antwerp threatened to kill her once he was released from jail.

Detectives immediately secured a warrant for Van Antwerp's arrest and raided his home on Spring Hill Drive in the early morning hours of January 4th.

Van Antwerp is currently held without bond at the Hernando County Jail.

Van Antwerp will be required to wear a GPS device and have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 if released at a later date.
