Drive-By Shooting Leads to More Arrests, Large Drug Seizure

BROOKSVILLE – Four people are now charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred at a residence on Holiday Drive last weekend.

According to Sheriff Al Nienhuis, a teenager decided to throw a party while his parents were out of town last Saturday night. At some point during the party, a physical altercation broke out while the host was not at the scene.

At around 4:30 a.m., Nienhuis says 27-year-old Heath Gates and 18-year-old Connor Bradley returned to the party and began firing shots from a vehicle. One person at the party returned fire but that person has not been identified.

As a result of the incident, a 16-year-old girl was shot in the hand and another person may have been grazed by a bullet.

On Monday, Gates and Bradley were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Firing into a Residence. Bradley is currently held on a $25,000 bond and Gates is held without bond due to being on probation for a prior aggravated assault charge.

During the investigation, Nienhuis says they discovered that Gates had hidden evidence at the residence of 25-year-old Tucker Hogan and 27-year-old Dylan Hogan. While executing a search warrant, detectives discovered a large amount of illegal narcotics.

According to Nienhuis, detectives seized 40lbs of Marijuana, 18.5 lbs. of THC Gummies, 86 lbs. of THC vape pens, 3.3 lbs. of THC wax, Psilocybin Mushrooms, and a sheet of LCD.

Tucker and Dylan Hogan are charged with Trafficking in Marijuana and other various drug-related charges. Both suspects remain behind bars on a $25,000 bond.
