Two Pit Bulls Die After Being Left in Pickup Truck with Heater Running

HUDSON – Sad news to report today, after two dogs died of heat exhaustion when they were locked inside a pickup truck for hours.

Pasco Sheriff's Deputies were called to the Walmart in Hudson around 10:45 p.m. last night, after a witness, "Kyle," says he saw two unresponsive Pit Bulls lying next to a pickup truck.

Kyle says the dog's owner appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was acting irrational. Kyle attempted to perform CPR on the dogs, but he was unable to resuscitate them.

The dog's owner told Kyle, "The truck was running but the dogs must have hit the heat."

Other witnesses told Kyle that the owner was shopping inside Walmart for at least an hour before discovering the dogs.

It is not known if the suspect has been charged at this time.

R News is waiting for a response from officials regarding the incident.
