Attempted Murder, Arson Suspect Formally Charged After Being Shot by Deputies

BROOKSVILLE - The suspect in Wednesday's 8-hour standoff on Maripoe Road has been formally charged.

50-year-old James Buford Hines is charged with 2-counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Arson, Making Threats, and Public Order Crimes.

Hines remains hospitalized and held on a $250,000 bond. He will be forced to wear a GPS monitoring device if released from jail.

Officials have not released a statement at this time.
