Suspect Charged in Today's Shooting Arrested Last Month for Battering Same Victim

HERNANDO BEACH – The suspect in today's shooting and near 4-hour standoff on Flounder Drive has been formally charged and is behind bars.

Around 2:00 p.m. today, deputies responded to an address on Flounder Drive after a man reported being shot. The victim, whose identity we are not releasing at this time, was shot in the upper torso and transported to a trauma center for treatment. His condition remains unknown at this time.

The suspect, who has been identified as 33-year-old Tabatha Dawn Mincieli, retreated into a residence with two young children and refused to surrender to law enforcement. At around 5:30 p.m. Mincieli surrendered without incident and the children were taken into protective custody.

Mincieli is charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and is currently held without bond. If convicted, Mincieli could face up to 15 years behind bars if convicted.

It is still unknown what led to the shooting, but sources who know the couple say their relationship was coming to an end.

According to Hernando County Court Records, Mincieli was just arrested on May 13th for domestic battery against the same victim she shot today.

During that incident, Mincieli became intoxicated and slammed the victim's hand in a door. She then made reference to using "weapons and firearms," against the victim, before leaving the residence on foot. Mincieli was released on a $50 bond later that day.

We will bring more on this story if new information develops.
