Woman Offers a Pair of Air Pods to Carryout Murder of Unborn Child

HERNANDO – The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is reporting the arrest of a woman who tried to solicit her ex-fiancé to carry out the murder of an unborn child.

On April 12th, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the female victim, who was 11-weeks pregnant at the time, to report that someone was trying to kill her unborn child.

The victim was contacted by her former fiancé, who told her that the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Haley Raborn, contacted the victim's former fiancé and requested her to kill the victim's unborn child. The former fiancé provided copies of Snapchat messages to the victim, stating same. The messages included premeditated instructions on how to carry out the crime. Further, Raborn offered to pay the former fiancé, with a pair of Air pods, once the request was completed.

Investigation revealed that Raborn was previously in a romantic relationship with the father of the victim's unborn child.

Soon after sending the electronic messages, Raborn met with the former fiancé to provide the "pill" she wanted her to use to carry out the crime. The former fiancé turned the pill over to detectives. The victim immediately obtained a restraining order through the courts.

Through the investigation, detectives determined that Raborn created a fictitious Facebook account, utilizing the victim's name and photograph. In reviewing messages sent from the fictitious account, detectives determined the account was likely created to thwart this investigation.

On May 9th, detectives met with Raborn at her residence. While speaking with detectives, Raborn eventually admitted she did in fact try to have the victim take an abortion pill, without the victim's consent. Raborn initially denied creating the fictitious Facebook account; however, she did eventually admit to doing so. Raborn told detectives she obtained the pill from a virtual doctor, online, and knew it was an abortion pill. Officials say Raborn showed little to no remorse for planning to have the unborn child murdered.

On Wednesday, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Raborn, and with the assistance of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Raborn was taken into custody without incident.

Raborn is charged with Solicitation/Attempted to Commit Murder, and Tampering with Evidence.

She is currently held in the Lando O' Lakes Detention Center on a $105,000 bond.

The investigation remains active.
