Homicide Investigation Underway in the Heather Subdivision

UPDATE: There are now unconfirmed reports that the victim may have died of natural causes as a result of being involved in the altercation. The Sheriff's Office has not released a statement or any details into the investigation.

WEEKI WACHEE – An investigation is underway into the death of at least one person at an address on Bonnet Way.

Deputies responded to the area of Galloway Road and Bonnet Way, after receiving reports of a possible stabbing, where a machete was allegedly used as a weapon.

Deputies did not initially find signs that a crime occurred, but minutes later, they were led to an address on Bonnet Way, where one person was found deceased inside the residence.

One witness tells R News that two men were fighting over one of the men kicking a dog. The alleged victim was then punched twice in the head.

There are no further details at this time.
