Spring Hill Man Charged with Numerous Counts of "Murder" and Arson.

UPDATE – According to Pasco County Officials, Morrison is charged with setting fire to several condominiums on Boardwalk Street in Holiday on March 4, 2023. The fire destroyed four condos, a vehicle, and other items in the area.

Morrison faces several counts of attempted murder and arson.

ORIGINAL STORY:

SPRING HILL – A Spring Hill man is behind bars today on numerous attempted murder and arson charges, but he didn't go down without a fight.

According to sources, Hernando County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 33-year-old Joseph Bronson Newman at 3281 Morrison Way around 11:00 p.m. last night. Newman suffered minor injuries after K9 was deployed to take him into custody.

Jail records indicate Newman is charged with 7-counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, First-Degree Arson with People Present, and Second-Degree Arson. It should be noted that although the jail website reflects "Murder" it is often Attempted Murder. There have been no recent arson cases in Hernando County involving 7 fatalities.

The Sheriff's Office has not released a statement regarding Newman's arrest. They have also declined to comment.
