Man Dies After Being Stabbed, Not the Suspect's First Stabbing

UPDATE: According to jail records, 36-year-old Regina Cassie Ritter was booked into the Hernando County Jail on Saturday but was only held on a contempt of court charge. Last night, R News learned that the charge of manslaughter was added, and she was given a bond of $30,000.

SPRING HILL – The victim in yesterday's stabbing on Commercial Way has died and a suspect is in custody, say officials.

The incident took place around 4:00 p.m. yesterday behind 5060 Commercial Way, the office of Advanced Dermatology. That's where witnesses say a woman stabbed the male victim in the chest with a steak knife and then fled the scene on a bicycle. Deputies searched the surrounding neighborhood for several hours until they eventually located the suspect a nearby wooded area.

36-year-old Regina Ritter is in custody but is not facing charges related to the victim's murder at this time. Currently, Ritter is held on a Contempt of Court charge related to child support, with a $500 bond.

The circumstances that led up to the stabbing is unknown at this time.

The victim's identity has not been released.

This is not the suspect's first arrest for stabbing someone. In November of 2020, Ritter was arrested for stabbing another man in the stomach with a fork during a domestic dispute.
