Missing Woman's Body Found on Citrus Way, Victim of Apparent Hit and Run

UPDATE The Florida Highway Patrol says a 66-year-old Brooksville man contacted FHP after seeing media reports about the hit-and-run crash. The suspect claims he struck a deer while driving a 2002 Dodge Ram on January 10th. Charges are considered pending at this time, say officials.

UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol has now confirmed that the Tina Everhart is a victim of a hit and run and a search for the suspect is underway.

According to officials, the victim was walking westbound on Citrus Way, west of Glory Lane, when a vehicle struck the victim, propelling her onto the north shoulder. Officials cannot determine exactly when the accident occurred.

Debris from the suspect vehicle is described as belonging to a 2002-2005 Dodge Ram 1500.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Florida Highway Patrol.

BROOKSVILLE – A very sad turn of events for a family desperately searching for a woman who disappeared 6 days ago, after her body was discovered minutes ago on Citrus Way.

R News was in the process of interviewing family members of 47-year-old Tina Louise Everhart, when We are the Essentials, the same organization searching for Timothy Braddy discovered her body.

Major Case Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office are on scene, along with the Florida Highway Patrol's Traffic Homicide Investigation team.

Citrus Way is currently closed near Everhart's residence on Glory Lane.

The cause of Everhart’s death is yet to be determined, but family members were concerned because she left her residence on January 10th without her cellphone, medications, or other personal belongings and wasn’t heard from again.

R News was just preparing to publish information of her disappearance when we received the tragic news.
