Two Pedestrians Struck by a Vehicle, One Confirmed Dead

BROOKSVILLE – Fire Rescue is on the scene of a vehicle accident involving two pedestrians in the area of Marvelwood Road and Papercraft Ave.

Sources say, a male victim is deceased and a female victim will airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

A passerby discovered the victims in the roadway and called 911.

UPDATE: 8:30 a.m. – Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol say a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 19-year-old Weeki Wachee woman was traveling northbound on Marvelwood Road, just south of Osprey Avenue, where two Pedestrians were walking in the roadway. The two pedestrians, a male, 44, of Weeki Wachee and a female, 37 of Sarasota were both struck by the vehicle. The male victim died at the scene and the female was airlifted to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
