Speeding and Smoking Weed Leads to Substantial Drug Bust

SPRING HILL – The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is reporting the arrest of a Hudson woman, after deputies discovered trafficking amounts of illegal drugs in her car during a traffic stop.

According to reports, around 9:32 a.m. this morning, Deputy W. Harsanyi observed a vehicle traveling 86 mph in a 55-mph zone, northbound on Commercial Way, near Hunters Lake Road.

Harsanyi conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, 29-year-old April Dallaire. Harsanyi immediately smelled marijuana and proceeded to conduct a search of the vehicle.

Inside, deputies found 33.5 grams of methamphetamine, 23.9 grams of cocaine, 369.9 grams of marijuana, 30.5 grams of Alprazolam, 16.1 grams of Hashish wax, 3.2 grams of amphetamine, 3.3 grams of ecstasy, three tabs of LSD, and one package of Suboxone. In addition to the drugs, needles, pipes, scales, and baggies were also located. Deputies also confiscated $1,800 in cash.

Dallaire was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Hashish, Possession of Ecstasy with Intent to Sell, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Dallaire was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of a $34,000 bond.
