Teen Dies in Early Morning Crash

LECANTO – A New York City man died early this morning after crashing into a light pole on South Lecanto Highway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 19-year-old driver was traveling southbound, when just west of Black Diamond Circle, he lost control of his Nissan Altima, veered off the roadway, and struck a concrete light pole.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
